Zoloft
Zoloft (sertraline) is a prescription antidepressant intended for a wide array of conditions cause by imbalance of chemicals in the brain, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, anxiety disorder and a number of other conditions. Patients younger than 24 are most likely to be monitored for serious side effects, as suicidal thoughts are possible in that age group. The following symptoms may indicate your treatment is not going quite as planned and must be reported to your doctor: aggressiveness, restlessness, mental or physical hyperactivity, irritability, suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, insomnia, and worsened depression. Such health aspects as a history of suicidal thoughts, seizures or epilepsy, liver or kidney disease, bipolar disorder, or a history of drug abuse are supposed to be reported to your health care provider in advance to make sure the dose prescribed will be both safe and efficient for you. Certain mild side effects are possible, such as mild nausea, dizziness, changes in appetite, sleep problems, dry mouth, upset stomach, constipation, decreased sex drive, and drowsiness. Avoid using allergy medicines, narcotic pain medicines, sleeping pills, or muscle relaxers along with Zoloft, as these drugs can add to the drowsiness Zoloft causes.
